Free Dodge radio code from the label serial
Most Dodge radio codes are worked out from the 14-character serial starting T on the radio label, which many units also show when you hold preset 1. FreeCarRadioCodes decodes those free with a 24 hour wait, or straight away with the instant service, and only the T00AM and QN families are bought in at a small charge.
Most Dodge serials we decode ourselves: free in 24 hours, or instant service available. T00AM and QN serials come from the manufacturer's database.
Where the serial is
Many Dodge radios show the serial on screen. Turn the radio on so it says CODE, then hold preset 1, or 1 and 6 together, for a few seconds. If the screen stays blank, look for the serial on the radio's label casing: 14 characters starting T, like TZ1AA2741M0358. On the Caliber, Journey, Nitro and Ram the bezel unclips and the screws behind it hold the radio in. The first five characters tell you which family the radio is, and that decides whether the code is free.
What happens next
We check the first five characters on the spot. T00BE, TM9, TVP, T00 plus digits, TZ1AA and A2C serials we decode ourselves: free in 24 hours, or pay for the instant service and see it on screen straight away. T00AM and the QN family (T16QN, T19QN, T22QN, T25QN, T30QN, T82QN) only exist in the manufacturer's database, so those carry a small charge and arrive within 24 hours, usually much sooner. You see which yours is before anything is sent.

What we cover
| Radio | Code |
|---|---|
| TZ1AA | Instant |
| T00BE | Instant |
| TM9 / TVP | Instant |
| T00 + digits, A2C | Instant |
| T00AM | Paid |
| T16QN to T82QN | Paid |
How to enter the code
- 1Turn the ignition on and press the radio power button. The screen shows CODE.
- 2Press the preset button that matches each digit, in order. On touchscreen units, tap the digits on the keypad and press Enter.
- 3The radio unlocks after the fourth digit. If it shows CODE again, the entry was wrong: check the digits and try once more.
- 4If it shows WAIT, the radio has locked after too many tries. Leave the ignition on and let the timer run, up to an hour, before you enter the code again.
Dodge radio code questions
How do I tell a free Dodge serial from a paid one?
Look at the first five characters. TZ1AA, T00BE, TM9, TVP, T00 followed by digits and A2C are calculated, so they're free. T00AM, T16QN, T19QN, T22QN, T25QN, T30QN and T82QN come from the manufacturer's database, so those carry a small charge. Type the serial in and we tell you before you commit to anything.
Are the online Dodge radio code generators genuine?
For most Dodge radios, yes. TZ1AA, T00BE, TM9, TVP and T00 codes are calculated from the serial, and we do that free. There is no generator for the T00AM and QN families. Anyone who claims one is guessing, and the radio will just show WAIT.
Why are T00AM and QN codes cost money when the rest are free?
Because they aren't calculated. Those radios have a random code stored in the manufacturer's database, so we buy it in for each serial. Nobody can give those away, here or anywhere else. Ours are a small charge, emailed within 24 hours, usually much sooner.
What does WAIT mean on a Dodge radio?
Too many wrong tries. The radio has locked itself for a set time, often 30 minutes and up to an hour. Leave the ignition on so the timer runs. Then check the serial and enter the code again.
My Dodge is a US import. Does that change anything?
No. The radio is the same unit whether the truck was sold in Detroit or Doncaster, and the serial on the label decodes the same way. Type it in, and if it starts TZ1AA, T00BE, TM9 or TVP it's free.
