Free Peugeot radio code from the label precode
A Peugeot radio code is worked out from the four-character precode on the radio label, a letter and three digits like F412. FreeCarRadioCodes decodes it free with a 24-hour wait, or immediately for $5.
Where the serial is
Take the radio out: two flat keys in the slots either side release most units, and RD4 radios come out once the trim is unclipped and the four screws are undone. On Philips and RD4 radios the label carries a short precode, a letter and three digits like F412, printed near the barcode. That's all we need. Blaupunkt BP, Continental A2C, Visteon C7 and Clarion CL0 units carry a longer serial instead, so type the whole line.
What happens next
We check what you typed straight away. A precode is decoded on the spot, so choose free and the code is emailed 24 hours later, or pay $5 and it arrives in minutes. BP, A2C, C7 and CL0 serials go to our decoding desk, so those take up to 24 hours either way, still free or $5. The email comes from [email protected] with the entry steps for your radio.
What we cover
| Radio | Code |
|---|---|
| Philips RD3 / RD4 precode | instant |
| RD45 precode | instant |
| Blaupunkt BP | 24 hours |
| Continental A2C | 24 hours |
| Visteon C7 | 24 hours |
| Clarion CL0 | 24 hours |
How to enter the code
- 1Turn the ignition on and switch the radio on. The screen shows CODE, or SAFE on some units, with four dashes.
- 2Press preset 1 repeatedly until the first digit is right, then presets 2, 3 and 4 for the rest.
- 3Check all four digits. A wrong entry counts as a try and locks the radio for a while.
- 4Press and hold preset 6 until the radio plays. RD45 and newer units confirm with the OK button instead.
Peugeot radio code questions
Is there a real Peugeot radio code generator?
Yes, for Philips and RD4 units. The code is calculated from the precode, the letter and three digits on the label, and that's what we do free. Blaupunkt, Continental, Visteon and Clarion units need a person to look them up, so those take a day.
My label has no precode, only a long serial. What do I enter?
Enter the long serial. It starts BP, A2C, C7 or CL0 and goes to our decoding desk. The code comes back within 24 hours, free or $5, with the entry steps.
What does SAFE mean on a Peugeot radio?
SAFE is the radio's way of saying CODE. It wants its four digits before it will play. Enter them with the preset buttons as above. If it shows SAFE with no dashes, it's in a lock-out wait: leave the radio on and try again once the dashes come back.
Is a Peugeot radio code free?
Yes. Every Peugeot serial we accept is free with a 24-hour wait. If you'd rather not wait, $5 sends the same code straight away.
Does the code change if I move the radio to another Peugeot?
No. The code belongs to the radio, so it follows the radio into the next car. That's why a used RD4 from a breaker still needs its own code, and why the precode on its label is the only thing that matters.
