SEAT radio code from the SEZ serial
A SEAT radio code isn't free anywhere: it only exists in SEAT's database and nobody can generate it from the SEZ serial. FreeCarRadioCodes buys it in for $25.99 and emails it within 24 hours, usually much sooner.
Where the serial is
The serial is on a sticker on the metal casing of the radio, so the unit has to come out. SEAT radios slide out with release keys or flat tools in the slots either side. The sticker shows the part number and the serial, which starts SEZ. This covers the Aura, Alana, Liceo and Adagio units, and the SEAT-badged RCD units too. Copy the whole 14 characters, letters and all.
What happens next

How to enter the code
- 1Switch the radio on. The screen shows SAFE, then 1000. If it stays on SAFE, hold the two right-hand buttons until 1000 appears.
- 2Set each digit with preset buttons 1 to 4. Button 1 moves the first digit, 2 the second, and so on.
- 3When the four digits match your code, hold the same two right-hand buttons until SAFE flashes and the radio plays.
- 4Two wrong tries and the radio waits. Leave it switched on for an hour, then it lets you try twice more.

Is a SEAT radio code free?
No, not anywhere. It only exists in SEAT's database, so it can't be worked out from the serial. We buy it in and charge $25.99. That is the price, not a starting point.
Can a generator work out a SEAT code?
No. SEZ serials don't contain the code, so a generator has nothing to work with. The only real source is SEAT's database, which is where ours come from.
What is the 1000 on the display?
The radio is ready for the code. 1000 is just the starting point. Change each digit with preset buttons 1 to 4 until it reads your four, then hold the right-hand buttons.
My serial starts VWZ, not SEZ. Which page do I use?
The Volkswagen page. VWZ is a VW unit, even if it sits in a SEAT. Same idea, a lookup in the manufacturer's database, but a different database and a different price.
I bought the radio second-hand. Can I still get the code?
Yes. The code belongs to the radio, not the car, so we look it up from the SEZ serial on its label whoever owned it before.
