Terms of service
These are the terms you agree to when you use FreeCarRadioCodes.com. We've kept them short and in plain English. If anything isn't clear, email us.
What we do
FreeCarRadioCodes.com supplies unlock codes for car radios. For most makes we work the code out ourselves from the radio's serial number. For a few makes the code only exists in the manufacturer's database, so we buy it in and pass it on to you.
We are not the car manufacturer or the radio maker. We supply the code, and we stand behind it.
The two options
For makes we decode ourselves, you choose how you get the code. Free, emailed within 24 hours. Or $5, and the code comes right away.
For makes where the code must be bought in, the price is the price shown on the page and the code arrives within 24 hours, usually much sooner. Those codes aren't free anywhere, and we don't pretend otherwise.
Some serials can't be decoded on the spot and go to our decoding desk. When that happens we tell you before you choose, and delivery is within 24 hours either way. Free codes are limited to two per email address in any 12 months; after that the instant option applies.
Your serial number
The code we supply is only as good as the serial you give us. You're responsible for typing it correctly, as printed on the radio's label or shown on its screen. We check the format on the spot, but we can't tell a mistyped digit from a real one.
If a wrong serial means we have to decode again, a small charge of $5 may apply on paid orders. Our refund policy explains this.
One code, one radio
A code is tied to the radio it was requested for. It won't work in a different unit, even the same model. Please don't share a code with anyone else. It won't help them and it isn't yours to pass on.
Payment
Payments are taken by Stripe (cards) or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. Prices are shown in your local currency before you pay, and the price you see is the price you pay. There are no hidden extras. The price promise does not extend to eBay or any other marketplace or auction listing.
No account needed
You don't need to sign up for anything. Type your serial, give us an email address for the code, and that's it. No password, no profile, no newsletter.
Fair use
This service is for people who need a code for their own radio, or one they're fixing for someone else. We may refuse or cancel requests that look automated, abusive, or designed to bulk-harvest codes. We may also decline serials we believe relate to stolen equipment. If we refuse a paid order before sending anything, we refund it.
Our responsibility to you
If we can't supply a working code, we refund what you paid. That's the limit of what we owe you. We're not responsible for other losses, like garage bills, time off work, or a radio that's faulty for reasons unrelated to the code.
Nothing here takes away rights you have by law as a consumer. If any part of these terms is found not to apply, the rest still stands.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms now and then. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute goes to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you may still be able to use your local courts and consumer protections.
