Where the serial is
Jaguar radios don't show the serial on screen, so you need the label on the radio casing. Slide the unit out with a pair of release keys, or check the sticker in the boot or the glovebox on older cars. The serial starts JA followed by 12 letters and digits, or M followed by six digits on the Alpine units fitted to the X-Type and S-Type.

Is a Jaguar radio code free?

Are the online Jaguar radio code generators genuine?
Yes, for JA and M serials. The code is a calculation on the serial and our software runs it. It needs the serial from the label, so nothing can generate it from the model alone.
Can the code come from the VIN?
No. Jaguar radio codes come from the radio, not the car, so the VIN and registration don't help. You need the serial from the label on the casing.
My serial starts with M, not JA. Is that right?
The Alpine radios in the X-Type and S-Type use an M followed by six digits instead of the JA format. Type it in as it appears and we calculate the code the same way.
Do I need the release keys to get the serial?
Usually. The serial is only on the label, so the radio has to come out far enough to read it. A pair of radio release keys slides into the slots either side of the fascia. Some older Jaguars also have the serial on a sticker in the glovebox or boot, so check there first.
