Free Acura radio code
An Acura radio code is worked out from the serial, the same way as Honda, because the radios are the same units. FreeCarRadioCodes does that free with a 24-hour wait, or straight away for $5.
Where the serial is
Acura is Honda's other badge, and the radios are the same units, so the trick is the same. With the ignition on and the screen showing CODE, hold presets 1 and 6 together for a few seconds. The serial appears, sometimes as two halves, one starting U and one starting L. Write both down in that order. If nothing shows, the unit is an older one and the serial is on a label on the casing, marked Serial No.
What happens next
We check the serial and, if it matches, work the code out on the spot. Choose free and it lands in your inbox 24 hours later from [email protected]. Choose $5 and it comes in minutes. Both emails carry the entry steps.

What we cover
| Radio | Code |
|---|---|
| Serials shown by holding 1 and 6 | instant |
| Label serials on older units | instant |
| Navigation units with a U and L serial | instant |
How to enter the code
- 1Switch the ignition on and the radio on. The screen shows CODE.
- 2Type the code with the preset buttons. Preset 1 enters a 1, preset 2 enters a 2, and so on.
- 3The radio plays as soon as the last digit is in. There is no confirm button.
- 4Ten wrong tries and the screen shows ERR or E. Switch the ignition off, wait an hour with it on again, and CODE comes back.
Acura radio code questions
Is an Acura radio code free?
Yes. We work it out from the serial and email it free in 24 hours. If you would rather not wait, $5 sends the same code in minutes.
Why do the Honda and Acura pages look the same?
Because the radios are the same. Acura is Honda under another badge, so the serial, the code and the way you enter it are identical.
Holding 1 and 6 shows nothing. What now?
Make sure the ignition is on and the screen says CODE first. If it still shows nothing, the unit is an older one and the serial is on the label on the casing.
The screen shows U and then L with digits. Which part do I send?
Both, in that order, without the letters. The U half and the L half together make the full serial, and we need all of it to work the code out.
I've had the battery out before. Is it the same code?
Yes. The code is fixed to the radio for life, so if you still have it from last time, use it. If not, we work it out again from the serial.
