Free Ford Focus radio code
Most Focus models left the factory with a Ford 6000 CD or a Sony CD unit, and both have a V or M serial that the code is calculated from. FreeCarRadioCodes works it out free with a 24-hour wait, or straight away for $5.
Ford Focus
Early Focus models mostly have the 6000 CD, and later ones the Sony CD or Sony DAB unit. Both show a serial of V or M plus six digits on the screen when you hold presets 1 and 6, and the same serial is on the label. A few Focus models with a TravelPilot sat nav have a BP serial on the label, and those go to our decoding desk, free or $5 but 24 hours either way.

Where the serial is
Turn the radio on, then press and hold presets 1 and 6 together for a few seconds. The serial appears on the screen as a V or M followed by six digits. If nothing shows, the serial is printed on a label on the side or back of the radio. You'll need to pull the unit out for that one.
How to enter the code
- 1Turn the radio on; the display shows CODE.
- 2Press preset 1 until the first digit is right, then 2, 3 and 4 for the others.
- 3Press and hold 5 to confirm.
- 4If it says LOCKED, leave the radio on for 30 minutes and try again.
Ford Focus · Questions people ask
Which serial does a Focus Sony unit show?
V plus six digits, or M plus six digits on some. Hold presets 1 and 6 with the radio on and it appears on the screen. That is the serial we need.
My Focus radio says LOCKED 10. What now?
Ten wrong tries have locked it. Leave the ignition on with the radio switched on for about an hour, then CODE comes back and the right code goes in.
Is the Focus code the same after a new battery?
Yes. The code is fixed to the radio, so if you saved it last time, use it again. If not, we work it out from the serial again for nothing.
