Free Honda Accord radio code
A Honda Accord radio code is calculated from the serial, which most Accord radios show on the screen when you hold presets 1 and 6. FreeCarRadioCodes works it out free with a 24-hour wait, or straight away for $5.
Honda Accord
Most Accords have a Honda unit made by Alpine, Panasonic or Pioneer, and the sat nav versions lock the same way as the plain radio. With the ignition on and CODE showing, hold presets 1 and 6 and the serial appears, sometimes as a U half and an L half. Older Accords keep the serial on a label on the casing. Either is worked out on the spot.

Where the serial is
Turn the ignition on and switch the radio on, so the display shows CODE. Now press and hold presets 1 and 6 together. After a few seconds the screen shows the serial, sometimes split across two screens with a U and an L part. Older radios don't do this trick, so the serial is on a label on the side of the unit or on a sticker in the glovebox.
How to enter the code
- 1Turn the radio on; the display shows CODE.
- 2Type the five digits using presets 1 to 6, one press per digit.
- 3The radio unlocks as soon as the last digit goes in.
- 4If it shows ERR E, switch the ignition off for an hour and try once more.
Honda Accord · Questions people ask
Does an Accord with sat nav use the same code?
The radio and the sat nav can lock separately on some Accords. Hold 1 and 6 for the radio serial. If the screen asks for a second code, send that serial too.
My Accord shows a U number then an L number. Which one?
Both. The U half and the L half together make the serial. Write them down in that order, drop the letters, and send the digits.
Is the Accord code the same after a new battery?
Yes. The code is fixed to the radio, so if you saved it last time, use it again. If not, we work it out from the serial again for nothing.
