Older Micras mostly have a Clarion CD unit, with the serial on the label after PN or PP, and some show a 7-digit serial on the screen. Micras from the early 2010s often have a Blaupunkt unit with a BP serial on the label, or a Daewoo unit with a DW or DS serial and a 28185 unit number. The newest Micras have Nissan Connect, with a 7-digit screen serial and a 7 612 unit number on the label. Because the label is on the casing, the radio has to come out first.

Where the serial is

Every Nissan radio has a label on its casing, so the unit has to come out of the dash. Nissan Connect (the Bosch LCN unit) shows a 7-digit serial on the screen while it is locked, and the label carries a unit number that looks like 7 612 830 076: we need both, so type the serial in the first box and the unit number in the second. Daewoo-made units have a serial starting DW or DS on the label with a 28185 unit number next to it, and again we need both. Older Clarion units carry the serial after PN or PP. Blaupunkt-made units have a BP serial.

How to enter the code

1. 1Turn the ignition on and switch the radio on. The screen shows CODE, or a keypad on Nissan Connect.
2. 2Type the four digits with the on-screen keypad. On Clarion units press preset 1 to set the first digit, 2 for the second, and so on.
3. 3Check the four digits, then press OK or ENTER. The radio comes on straight away if the code is right.
4. 4If the screen says WAIT or LOCKED, leave the radio on with the ignition running for an hour, then try again.
