Most Capturs have the Radio Connect unit or the Media Nav touchscreen. The Radio Connect asks for a code and has a precode of one letter and three digits on its label, or a part number starting 2811 with the precode at the end. The Media Nav and later R-Link screens usually lock to the car instead. If yours shows CODE, the label or the VIN gets it sorted.

Where the serial is
The precode is on a white label stuck to the side or top of the radio. Look for a short code like K307 or K205, often the last four characters of a longer number such as 281164920RTK307. Some newer units show the precode on screen when you hold 1 and 6. No label and no screen? Switch the box to VIN and type the 17 characters from your windscreen plate or V5C.
How to enter the code
- 1Turn the radio on; the display shows CODE or 0000.
- 2Press preset 1 until the first digit is right, then 2, 3 and 4 for the others.
- 3Press and hold preset 6 until the radio beeps or the display changes.
- 4If it refuses, switch off, wait a minute and enter it again slowly.

Does a Captur Media Nav need a code?
Usually not. It locks to the car rather than asking for a code. If your Captur shows CODE, it is the Radio Connect unit, and that code is worked out from the label.
Where is the label on a Captur Radio Connect?
On the casing, so the unit has to come out with release keys. The precode is one letter and three digits, often at the end of a 2811 part number.
